The Maclure Room for the Dissemination of Useful Knowledge at the Working Men’s Institute (WMI) Museum and Library is a beautiful, historically significant room for a meeting, lecture or other event for up to 50 people.
It’s name is taken from WMI’s mission statement from its founder, the famed Geologist and member of the Boatload of Knowledge, William Maclure, who stated its purpose as: “the dissemination of useful knowledge to working men and their families.”
Located in one of Indiana’s more notable historical landmarks, the Maclure Room for the Dissemination of Useful Knowledge offers a modern audio visual system, a kitchenette to prepare light refreshments, great light, and an historical ambiance that can only be felt, not described.
