American Legion – Mount Vernon
Mount Vernon’s American Legion Post #5 is a friendly place with inexpensive, good food and drink. The first Saturday of each month features a fish fry that’s open to the public. There’s a bar, a dining room, and another large room that can be rented for wedding receptions, anniversaries, or whatever.
Post #5 is also very active in the community, sponsoring or taking part in many charity events.

American Legion – New Harmony
The American Legion Post 370 in New Harmony is a popular spot for Legion members visiting New Harmony, and non-members alike (Every Saturday is an open house). It features a nice bar with big screen tv’s, a typical bar menu, and the occasional specialty meal such as their famous chicken and dumplings during Kunstfest.
Post 370 us a popular place for wedding receptions, anniversary parties, and they often have bands on Saturday nights. The post holds a spot shoot every Sunday starting in October and ending just before Thanksgiving.

Mount Vernon’s Elks Lodge #277 sports both a traditional dining room with a large fireplace, bar and dance floor, and a comfortable modern bar with tables, booths, bar food and drink specials.
Non-members can call to find out when their numerous open houses take place.
