Just a Stone’s Throw opened in April of 2018 with the hopes of creating a unique shopping experience for tourists as well as New Harmony residents. The shop was a longtime dream of owner, Ashli (Cullum) Oglesby. After securing the building, Oglesby and her husband, Shane and son, Timothy went to work making the dream a reality. Just a Stone’s Throw is named after Ashli’s grandparents, Donald & Carolyn Stone, lifelong New Harmony residents. The quaint shop is located in the heart of New Harmony, just behind the post office in the old barber shop.
The shop features a wide variety of New Harmony souvenirs including home decor, jewelry and clothing. Just a Stone’s Throw carries a great selection of gifts for any occasion including birthdays and weddings. Looking for something for yourself? They carry and large variety of women’s clothing, handbags and jewelry. How about a gift for the man in your life? They offer upcycled leather wallets from old sports gear. Do you need something for your home? Just a Stone’s Throw has decorative pillows, tea towels, signs and frames, candles and stationery. They have a large display of the insulated tumbler line, SIC, as well wine and beer carriers made from old military tents. They have a large inventory of children’s items including clothing, stuffed animals, books, games, puzzles, toys and other fun novelties. Just a Stone’s Throw also has an assortment of items made by local vendors from the tri-state area.
