Why: celebrating the Thomas Say Firefly: Indiana’s new state insect with old New Harmony ties
Indiana has named its official state insect, the Thomas Say firefly, and New Harmony invites Hoosiers and friends to help celebrate. Thomas Say was a 19th century naturalist who lived and worked in New Harmony and is widely considered the father of American entomology. Stop by the open house for the back story, some snacks and your own mason jar for collecting.
