In this class, we will learn to create both functional and sculptural forms using hand-building techniques. Explore the fundamentals of three-dimensional design coupled with basic clay techniques like slab construction, coil building, and pinching in order to create challenging and exciting projects. We will also experiment with color and texture as we learn to create surface decoration with slips and underglazes. Other topics will include getting your piece to dry evenly, keeping sculptures (relatively) lightweight, and other troubleshooting questions makers may have.

All levels are welcome. Course fee includes individual attention/instruction, 20 lbs. of clay and bisque firing. Glazing options are available.
