Join us in beautiful historic New Harmony, Indiana, October 19th – 22nd, 2017, for the 19th annual Dulcimer Chautauqua on the Wabash. This music festival is a celebration of the music and culture associated with the mountain dulcimer. (The mountain dulcimer originated in the Appalachian mountains and is the only truly American musical instrument.) We are very excited to include hammered dulcimer in our festival this year for the first time! This year’s event will feature a variety of classes/workshops, concerts, jam sessions, and open mic performances. The vendor area located in the Ribeyre School Gymnasium will house a great selection and variety of instruments, music, recordings, and accessories, and will be open to the public. This venue will also feature some of our open mic performances. The Dulcimer Chautauqua on the Wabash concerts will take place in Thrall’s Opera House on Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:00 p.m. Admission is $15 per person each night (Free admission for those under 18).
