GET OUTDOORS

Doctors say fresh air and exercise are good for not only your physical health but also mental health. Posey County is full of walking and biking paths in New Harmony and along the Mount Vernon Riverfront.

All Posey County DNR properties remain open. This includes Harmonie State Park and Hovey Lake Fish and Wildlife Preserve.

At Harmonie State Park, guests can enjoy hiking and mountain biking through the beautiful spring woods. Nine marked trails have difficulty levels ranging from as easy as it gets (flat and paved) to easy to moderate.

It is the time of the year when Morel Mushrooms are starting to emerge. While enjoying the fresh air and sunshine, hunt for these tasty treats.

Hovey Lake is a 1,400 acre oxbow lake where cypress trees notable for its water foul and other wildlife, great fishing, canoeing and kayaking, and scenic beauty.
