It seems that it is hard to find places these days that are dog friendly. Here in Posey County, we love dogs and have plenty of accessible places for you and your furry friend to enjoy!
The Mount Vernon River Front is a hot spot for dogs. You can walk the paths along the river, watch the boats drive by and enjoy a game of fetch. The MV Parks and Recreation Department works hard to keep the park clean and beautiful, so don’t forget to clean up!
New to Posey County, is the Mount Vernon Bark Park. This park is made up of a fenced-in area designed for off-leash activities. Inside the park, there is a “small dog” area and a “big dog” area to keep the dogs as safe as possible. For the safety of everyone, you must register your pet at the MV Parks Department. Click here for registration forms. Once complete, enjoy unlimited access from dusk to dawn!
Harmonie State Park has always been dog friendly. Enjoy hiking or walking the trails. You can even stay the night at the camp ground! Just reserve your space and bring along a tent or camper!
