Chautauqua on the Wabash Dulcimer Festival and Workshop

The 20th Annual Dulcimer Chautauqua On The Wabash will be held October 18th – 21st, 2018, in beautiful historic New Harmony, Indiana.

Mark your calendars and come help us celebrate our 20th!

We are very excited to have 2007 National Champion – Joe Collins, renowned teacher and performing artist, Molly McCormack, 2012 National Champion –Sarah Morgan, and the incredible Stephen Seifert as our All-Star staff of mountain dulcimer performing artists/teachers for 2018! We have expanded our hammered dulcimer staff to include 2012 National Champion –Ted Yoder, and renowned teacher, builder, and performing artist Rick Thum.

Come share a great weekend of music, learning, and friendship in the beautiful tranquility of historic New Harmony, Indiana!

Thursday, October 18th

1:00 – 5:00 P.M. – Registration in the Barn Abbey

5:30 – 6:30 P.M. – Pot Luck Supper in the Barn Abbey

6:00 P.M. – Vendor area opens in the Ribeyre School Gymnasium

6:45 – 8:00 P.M. – Beginner Friendly Appalachian Square Dancing with Sarah Morgan. Everyone welcome! (Barn Abbey)

Get up and moving to a live band! Come learn what “swing your partner, “do-si-do” and “grand-right-and-left” means.

This will be gentle and low-impact. If you can walk at a moderate pace, you can square dance.

8:00 – 10:30 P.M. –  Jam Session in the Barn Abbey

8:00 – 10:30 P.m. – Slow Jam Session in the Rapp Annex

7:00 – 8:00 P.M. – FREE Beginner Dulcimer Lesson with Rick Huffman in the Rapp Annex

Friday, October 19th

7:30 – 8:45 A.M. – Registration in the Ribeyre School Gymnasium

8:00 A.M. – Vendor area opens in Ribeyre School Gymnasium

9:00 – 11:00 A.M. –  Morning Workshops in Barn Abbey, Rapp Annex, St. Stephen’s Church Annex, & Working Men’s Institute

12:00 – 2:00 P.M. – Open mic performances in the Ribeyre School Gymnasium

Noon – Optional lunch catered by Hornville Tavern in the Rapp Annex (Must purchase ticket(s) upon registration)

2:30 – 4:30 – Afternoon workshops in Barn Abbey, Rapp Annex, St. Stephen’s Church Annex & Working Men’s Institute

5:00 – 6:45 P.M. – Open mic session in the Ribeyre School Gymnasium

7:00 P.M. – CONCERT in Thralls Opera House

11:30 A.M. – 2:30 P.M. Chilli Cook-Off on the lawn of the Working Men’s Institute

11:15 A.M. – 2:15 P.M. – Open mic performances in the Ribeyre School Gymnasium*

2:30 – 4:30 P.M. – Afternoon workshops in Barn Abbey, Rapp Annex, St. Stephen’s Church Annex, & Working Men’s Institute

4:45 – 6:30 P.M. – Open mic performances in the Ribeyre School Gymnasium*

5:00 – 630 P.M. – Spaghetti Supper at the New Harmony Baptist Church (Suggested $5 Donation – all money goes to fund their missions) *Open mic performances during the Spaghetti Supper at the Baptist church.

7:00 P.M. – CONCERT in Thralls Opera House

Sunday, October 21st
