Kunstfest German Heritage Festival

On September 17th & 18th tens of thousands will descend on the thriving, walkable village of New Harmony to celebrate German-American heritage at the 34th Annual Kunstfest. Kunst means ‘art’ in German and you are certain find something for everyone at Kunstfest.

Musical entertainment is scheduled at various venues throughout both days. You can take a carriage ride, attend the Big Liar’s contest or shop at over 250 vendor booths and local shops throughout town. If you get hungry, try the various foods available from kraut balls to chicken & dumplings to homemade ice cream to name a few. There will be children’s activities at the family stage at Maclure Square
History & Heritage
Check out historical craft demonstrations ranging from blacksmithing to rope making.
Parking
Free Parking can be found at the former New Harmony School and the Atheneum, with shuttles running from both spots.
